A very respectable, boutique firm of Chartered Accountants based in Southern Sydney has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join the team.

With a strong commitment to customer service, as well as employee satisfaction, the firm prides itself on being able to deliver superior outcome for clients, at the same time as providing a positive working environment for all employees.

The position play's a crucial role in supporting the firm's organisational and operational goals and objectives.

Reporting to the Directors, the role is responsible for the leadership and management of both Front Office and Back Office team members. 


  • Assist Directors in the general management of practice
  • Internal accounting functions of the practice, including –
    • General Ledger using MYOB
    • Banking
    • Cash Flow
    • Debtors – including collection thereof
    • Creditors – including payment thereof
    • Work In Progress
    • Fees
    • Budgets
  • Preparation of reports for Director’s Meetings, including –
    • Outstanding Debtors
    • Work In Progress
    • Lodgment targets
  • Attending Director’s Meetings and taking of minutes
  • Human resource functions including –
    • Payroll functions
    • Recruitment (including writing and submitting job advertisements)
    • Screening resumes
    • Conducting Team Member Reviews with Directors
    • Conducting exit interviews
    • New Team Member inductions
  • Assist Directors in the marketing of the practice
  • Organisation of practice functions, including seminars, ADAN meetings and team retreats.
  • Ordering stationery
  • Responsible for office equipment, furniture and fittings including telephone systems, computer hardware, etc.
  • IT functions and back-ups

Skills and experience

Technical Skills
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a professional environment.
  • Ability to manage and review jobs
  • Knowledge of basic accounting
  • Identify opportunities for clients and firm
